Screen flickers due to video adapter card not properly seated or secured.
Cause:
The video display card in the computer is not properly seated inside the video display card slot or is not screwed into the slot properly.
Solution:
Carefully remove the video display card from the video display card slot and reinsert it. After the card is properly seated, secure the card into place by inserting the screw into the screw hole.
1) Turn off the computer and remove all cables from the back of the computer cover.
2) Remove the computer cover.
CAUTION: When working inside the computer, take extra precautions to prevent electrostatic discharge damage.
3) Locate the video display card.
NOTE: To locate the video display card, consult the manual that came with the computer.
4) Remove the screw from the screw hole that is holding the video display card into place.
5) Gently and carefully remove the video display card from the video display card slot.
6) Gently and carefully reseat the video display card into the video display card slot.
CAUTION: DO NOT force or bend the card into the slot. Forcing and bending it can damage the card.
7) Test that the video display card works correctly before replacing the computer cover.
a) Plug all the cords and cables into the back of the computer.
b) Plug all the power cords into the electrical outlet.
c) Turn on the computer and all components one by one and ensure that each component works correctly.
d) Once all components work correctly, turn the computer off.
e) Remove all cables from the back of the computer.
f) Remove all power cords from the electrical outlet.
8) Replace the computer cover.
9) Turn the computer on.
